Summershow People's Choice Award!

The hundreds of votes have been counted and we are pleased to annouce the winner of the Foto8 Summershow 2011 People's Choice Award....

'Enal with Pet Shark' by James Morgan!



James will be presented with his prize of a new Olympus PEN E-P2 camera.

About ‘Enal with Pet Shark’
The majority of Indonesia’s sea nomads are being moved ashore as a result of government pressure and environmental degradation. Some, however cling to the traditional way of life and still spend their entire lives at sea. The print is 76x50cm, framed and available for £620.

The second place favourite went to Peter Denness’ image ‘Dark Hare’ while third place goes to Antonio Olmos’ ‘Friends of Negus McClean’ (also commended in the official judges’ selection). Also with a high number of votes was 'Dismantling Connections' by Neil Craver, 'After the Crash' by Neil Hall, 'Fishermen in China' by Chan Hung Kwok and 'My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding' by Becky Matthews & Clare Struthers.

The Foto8 Summershow is London’s greatest photographic spectacle, a veritable ‘salon de photographie’ – an inspiring array of framed and mounted images of all shapes and sizes, installed from floor to ceiling. This year over 2800 individual images were entered into the Summershow open submission exhibition. It runs until 12 August 2011.
