The winners of this year's competition are as follows:
SAM IRONS: Sam's work combines a quest for exploration with a deep knowledge of the history of Art. His unique eye is able to invest in the places he photographs, often the 'undiscovered' or the overlooked, with a sense of the surreal that strips them of their context and encourages a re-evaluation from the viewer.
LAURA PANNACK: ‘Pannack gives great insight into her subjects’ lives using a great simplicity which belies great maturity in portrait technique’- Lawrence Watts.
BEN ROBERTS: Ben's personal work follows strong narrative themes that examine man's relationship with both the built and natural environment, whether in the Highlands of Scotland or the Australian outback.
JON TONKS: Jon has developed a style of documentary work and portraiture that is graphically strong, and has the capacity to work successfully within an advertising and design market.
THOMAS BALL: Thomas has been working on a series of personal projects focusing on energy and the environment whilst also working on editorial commissions in the UK and Ireland.
The work of the winners will be showcased for the first time along with work from the LPA Photographers between 14.05.09-10.06.09 at the theprintspace www.theprintspace.co.uk
